Workshop 2 · Hands-on

Five tech activities. Work each one yourself.

Each activity walks a real IT scenario in numbered steps with a self-check at the end. Everything you write saves to your browser only.

Build an AI assistant · advanced · 45 to 60 min

Build your own Hermes Agent (a private AI assistant)

Set up Hermes Agent, a free open-source assistant from Nous Research, and text it on Telegram. You rent its brain from OpenRouter, run it on a small cloud server you lock down with Tailscale and a firewall, and teach it safety rules in a SOUL.md file. Real cloud, networking, and AI-safety skills. Includes a concept track and a quick local-only option for anyone not doing the full build.

Before you start

  • Workshop 2 assumes you are comfortable with the RTCF prompt structure from Workshop 1. If not, read What AI is first.
  • Open the live page in a second tab for the shared timer.
  • Pick the activity closest to where you are in your tech career. Help desk first, then networking, then PC troubleshooting, then certs.
  • Take-home materials, the Workshop 2 deck, and the prompt library live on the tech track resources page.
