Urban League of Louisiana · Workshop 2 of 3 · Tech track

AI for tech work and the certifications behind it.

A four-hour workshop for participants moving into IT: help desk, networking, PC support, and the CompTIA certs that unlock the next role.

Workshop 2 builds on the prompt fundamentals from Workshop 1. You should be comfortable with RTCF prompts before the session. If you have not taken Workshop 1, the What AI is page and the career activities are the prerequisite.

Five hands-on activities

Triage a vague help desk ticket, walk a network problem from cable to cloud, diagnose a slow PC, build a six-week CompTIA study plan with practice questions, and build your own Hermes Agent, a private AI assistant on a secure cloud server.

Open activities

Six worked use cases

Password-reset triage, subnetting tutor, Windows event log walk, phishing markup, help desk resume bullets, and an 18-month tech career path.

What you leave with

  • A help desk response template you would actually send.
  • A layered network troubleshooting flow you can run on autopilot.
  • A hardware-vs-software decision tree for PC complaints.
  • A six-week CompTIA study plan tuned to your weak domains, with flashcards and practice questions for tonight.
  • Three resume bullets rewritten for the next role up.
  • An 18-month career path from Tier 1 to your goal role.
  • Your own Hermes Agent: a personal AI assistant on Telegram, running on a locked-down cloud server you control.

The four-hour agenda lives at /ws2-tech/session-2. The live page has a shared timer and prompt playground for the room.
