Workshop 3 · Hands-on

Five activities. Build, test, and document a guardrail.

Every activity here ends with the same question: what's the failure mode and what catches it? Build the agent, run it, write the safety review.

Evaluate your own agent and document a failure mode

Take any agent you built today (tutor bot, job-search flow, helpdesk triage, browser research) and put it through a four-test evaluation. Document one specific way it can fail, and the guardrail that catches the failure before it lands on a real person.

Before you start

  • You will need free-tier accounts on at least one builder platform: Claude Projects, Poe, Zapier, or Make.
  • You will need at least one free AI tool with API or built-in access: Claude, ChatGPT free, AI by Zapier, or OpenAI inside Make.
  • For the browser agent activity, Perplexity (free) is the recommended starting tool.
  • Do not wire any agent in this workshop to a real production system (your real ticketing system, your real email account). Build against sandboxes.
  • Open the live page in a second tab for the shared timer.
